The Breeder of
shih tzu Mrs.Rudášová has brought following experience from the
dog show.
16.08 On
Sunday we together with Sokol and Lev ) "camped" at the circle.
They were
running around in the circle to practice and I went to an
acquaitance breeder.
Sokol was on a
lead and small Lev was running behind us.
We were
talking and Lev was pawing something under the radiator. I told
him : Come out, you will look like a pig! Lev did not want to
come out, so I pulled him out of there
and together
with him also a pile of bait granules - the poison for mice.
The poison was
under each radiator in the hall D on small bowls, completely
accessible for dogs - there was no problem to put a head between
radiator and floor for even a bigger dog.
Immediately I
brought a sample of a poison and with a small Lev under arm I
ran to find a veterinary doctor. There was Lev brought to
vomiting by a salty solution and we together with the vet were
tormenting small poor Lev and tried to get all what he had in
the stomach out.
Fortunatelly
he had breakfast in the morning, he vomited out several granules
for dogs and a bit of that bait granule for mice and after about
one hour of trials of bringing him to another vomiting I did not
wait, resigned from the show and as quickly as possible was
driving to the Czech republic.
At home small
Lev got bitter tea and charcoal and according to an advice of
vet we still observe him if he is not going to bleed from
mucosas.
Personally I
am completely shocked how it is possible that without any notice
and any barrier there are the granules with poison placed in the
hall at the dog show.
And moreover I
did not succeed to find out what kind of poison was placed there.
Neither at the vet who cured Lev immediately after the accident.
I hope that my Lev will survive all this and also that he did
not suffer a shock when in the location of the show where he had
to get acquainted with the environment and get some positive
impressions he was tormented by me and the vet for about one
hour.
